CCS - 2014 09 22 FFA Presents

Students at CCS gathered in the auditorium Monday morning for a special assembly.
Members of the state and national organizations for FFA were on hand to meet with the local group. They shared a breakfast with our students and Mr. Walley and then spoke to the students about their theme for the school year. The focus is "Bright" an the speakers talked about finding value in the community. One speaker talked about the adventures he had in his life while living on his family farm and the lessons he learned from taking adventures and exploring the world right around him. He said there were many lessons that can be had just be living a life of exploration in your own back yard. He stories were funny, poignant and connected well with the students.
After his presentation two members of the CCS FFA group read a poem and presented a special award to Mrs. Johnston. She retired last June but has already been in school as a substitute just to keep in touch with all of her school friends and to be a part of the lives of her own children, grand children and students she has had for years. It was a nice way to kick off the week.
