CCS - 2014 08 02 Parade

How about a 2.5 mile walk - in the warm weather - carrying and playing an instrument? That is what several CCS students did today for a Tri-Town parade in Brasher Falls. This is the second time the band has made the trip to perform. I was walking with them through much of the procession and many people yelled out their thanks to the students for making the trip.
It was a smaller group than the two parades during the school year but they were game. They were also aided by some recent graduates. Helping support the younger students were Wayne Cowan, Eric and Katie Legacy, Ben Roulston and Kierstin Zeldenrust. I do not normally focus on my own family but Ben also helped out on trumpet (he graduated three years ago) and my two nephews (who graduated from FA) also donned the CCS gear and help fill out the sound.
It was very warm but they students played and marched well. Thanks to all the students who participated and the parents who pitched in.
Thanks also to Mrs. Trombley (she provided a lot of drinks and home made cookies). The drinks were really appreciated at the end of the long walk.
Note - there are some odd sidewalk pictures in the set. The theme was "Superheroes" and there was some great artwork on display.
