November 2, 2015 - Soccer Playoff Wins

Soccer playoffs2015

Exciting wins for both varsity soccer teams. For the first time in nearly 30 years the boys won the Section X title. It was the first for Coach Ouimet and it came from two overtime playoff wins. Congratulations to the boys. Thanks to Mrs. Locklin for sending in some pictures from the afternoon ceremony celebrating the team and the Section X award winners.

Congratulations to the girls. They won their 7th straight Section X title. ( I think that is right). They shut out their opponents 2-0 in the playoff win. Another dominating season for the girls.

Both teams head into playoffs this coming weekend. Dates, times and locations will be announced as we get them.

We wish both teams all the best. If anyone has pictures from either game that they would like to share, please send them to the Mr. Trombley at school. You can send them via email, CD/DVD, send in the memory card or stop by. If you upload your own photos I can link them as well.

October 21, 2015 - Soccer Girls Say Goodbye

Seven young women were recognized last night for their leadership and dedication to the soccer program. Some have been on the varsity team for four years - that is how strong many of these athletes are. For the past few years they have helped anchor one of the most dominant soccer teams in the area. Many of the ladies put up great numbers for the Bulldogs and their skill will be missed. We with them well in the playoffs and in the future. (I bet some of them hate that the wind massed up their hair. I know it bothers me when the wind does that to my hair. Quit laughing - I still have some hair that gets massed up. It looks a little like Langer's hair now - but need to laugh.) We will miss you all.

Note - Mrs. Trombley took a few pictures of the modified game. She did not have a zoom lens so I cropped the images a little so you can see better. Some of them look pretty cool!

Congratulations to all the senior members of the volleyball team and the track team. Last night was senior night for the players and, as always, an emotional night for parents and athletes. Some of the volleyball players have been leading the team for four years and have seen some great successes during that time. Their leadership will be missed I am sure (but I saw some great play making from the mod-squad so I think the program looks good for years to come. We also thank Annie for being such a great representative on the FA team.

Thank You

As many of you now know CCS lost a great fan, friend, father, husband, fireman, community member, photographer (the list goes on and on) when we lost Mr. Rob Green. I know he meant a lot to many people. For me he was a man who shared his love of photography with the website for so many years. I remember him questioning me often about my cameras and lenses. We talked for many hours about digital camera specifications, memory card speeds, ISO setting, flash problems in our dark gym and so much more. He loved sharing his images with everyone. Not many of you know this but he had to get one his cameras fixed because he wore out the shutter. That is how may pictures he took of life at CCS. I was more than happy to step aside and let him snap away because I knew how much he loved it. Rain - cold weather - long road trips to away games - nothing stopped him from getting great pictures to share with all of you. He loved working with the musical as well. He was here for Mock Crash - Fire Prevention - Science Olympiad and so much more. I will miss his pictures, his talks about all things photography, his energy and his gracious and giving spirit. Despite all he shared with the school he never asked for anything in return. He truly served our school and our students and was a gift to all. Thank you Mr. Green.

A lot of pictures from Mr. Green - Here are 4 sets of soccer pictures from recent soccer games. Mr. Green says the defense has been solid and the offensive explosion lead by Zach Cowan has been a key to victory. A tough come from behind battle is highlighted in these pictures. Thanks as always for his great work.

Nearly 700 pictures from Mr. Green from a few recent soccer games at CCS. Some great action shots to accompany some early season wins in the hot and humid weather.

On a nearly 90 degree Friday after noon in May the CS Varsity Baseball team and Girls' Modified Softball team took to the fields. Mrs. Trombley borrowed a camera to take some fun pictures of the two games. She said the teams were playing hard despite the hot weather. How did we go from freezing nearly every day to this hot and dry this fast? Not complaining though because the sun sure feels nice. If anyone has a chance to grab pictures from the other games - send them in and I will post them. We wish all the best to all the spring sports teams.
