CCS - 2014 11 16 Volleyball

Alas, it was not in the cards. I miss the word "alas". The Lady Bulldogs were primed and ready for some volleyball Saturday afternoon, but the event was nearly 2 hours behind schedule and I think the delay took a toll on the CCS squad. They started a bit flat against their first opponents and never really recovered. The girls could not find their momentum against teams every it as talented as they are. Another strong season came to an end but as Coach Reynolds will attest, it is not easy to even make it to state competition and that alone shows the strength of this group of girls. I did make the long trip along with Mrs. Trombley and Josh to grab some pictures including a shot of Erin Ashline receiving a sportsman award. If someone has some pictures from the soccer game, please send them along. I followed their struggle on Facebook all afternoon. Some may say it was a rough day for CCS sports since both teams lost. I say it was a testament to talent, hard work and heart that two teams from such a small school made it so far. Many larger schools cannot make that claim, and fewer can say they sent two teams. Thanks for such great seasons.
