We are very excited to celebrate Halloween with our little Bulldogs. This year our Halloween celebration will need to look different than it has in the past. Unfortunately, we WILL NOT be able to have our Halloween parade.

However, we have many fun activities planned for our little Bulldogs. On Friday, October 29th, we are asking our little Bulldogs to come to school dressed in their Halloween costume. Our amazing staff will be taking a picture of our little Bulldogs all dressed up. We will be making a Halloween costume slideshow for our students to watch later in the day on Friday, October 29th. The Halloween slideshow will be available on the CCS Facebook page as well as our CCS website.

Audrey’s Kids Fund has generously donated money to provide Halloween treats for our students. We WILL NOT be able to allow any outside snacks for the Halloween party. Our little Bulldogs will be provided a delicious Halloween treat from the generous donation of Audrey’s Kids Fund. We want to express our appreciation to Audrey’s Kids Fund. Thank you for taking such great care of our little Bulldogs! We are also excited to announce that we will be having Spirit Week during the week of October 25-29.

Message from Mrs. Calnon - August 26, 2021

On behalf of the staff at Chateaugay Central School, I am happy to welcome you to the 2021-2022 school year! Our CCS faculty and staff are thrilled to welcome our little Bulldogs back to our school building on Tuesday, September 7th.

I wanted to review some important safety information with you. Earlier this week, our CCS Reopening Committee and the Chateaugay Central School Board of Education met to review the COVID-19 safety guidelines provided by the New York State Department of Education. You are able to access the CCS COVID-19 Safety Guidelines for 2021-22 on our CCS Webpage and our social media page. The guidelines are also attached to this email. Our students and staff will be wearing masks and practicing social distancing throughout the school day. Guardians DO NOT need to fill out the Daily Student Health Screening Form each day. Chateaugay Central School District will continue to comply with the guidelines set forth by the Department of Health and Department of Education. It is important that we work together to keep our students and school community safe. Your child’s safety is our number one priority. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the safety guidelines, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.

At this time Courtney is contacting families regarding your child’s arrival/dismissal information. If you haven’t already, please return the transportation and emergency contact information to the elementary office as soon as possible. Just a reminder that we will begin welcoming students into the building at 7:45 am. We ask that all of our students arrive at CCS by 8:05 am. Students will be dismissed at 2:31 on Monday-Thursday and 2:23 on Friday. We will have double dismissal on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. More information to follow.

Many of our families have chosen to drop off/pick up their child from school. If you are driving your child to school, I ask that you are very patient with our staff. We are anticipating a higher volume of cars driving through the car-rider line. Our number one goal is to ensure student safety. We ask that you help us to keep our students safe by staying in the car rider line, driving slowly and not using your cell phone.

In the past our families have been very generous and have often brought snacks to school for our students to enjoy. This year we are asking that all snacks are pre-packaged, store bought snacks. In an effort to help our amazing school, please be sure to fill out the free and reduced lunch form. We appreciate your help.

Lastly, On Monday, September 6th we would like to invite our students and families to join us for Popsicles at the Playground. Please come to the elementary playground at 5:30 pm and enjoy a delicious popsicle. Our students will have the opportunity to play on the playground and visit with their friends prior to the first day of school. Our goal is to ensure that students feel comfortable and confident as they begin the new school year.

Again, thank you for your continued support of Chateaugay Central School. We appreciate you!

Love, Mrs. Calnon
