Flex will be held in the Auditorium. All students taking NCCC classes will get registered with the college. Bring your Social Security number!

• College Fair & UVM Health Careers Expo - 9/30 @ SUNY Plattsburgh

Students in grades 10-12 who are interested. More than 70 colleges will be represented and various UVM Health Center departments. Pick up and return the permission slip by 9/25 to the main office. First come, first serve!

College/Career planning presentation in the Auditorium for students/families grades 9-12.

College Application Days - 10/2, 10/5, 10/20

Come to the library during any free periods to get help with your college applications. No appt. necessary!

• SAT School Day- 10/22

SAT for Seniors. Register on Google Form in the Senior Seminar classroom by 9/28. $60. If you have questions, see Mrs. Poirier.

• PSAT- 10/26

PSAT for Juniors. Practice exam for the SAT (college entrance exam) $18. Register on Google Form posted on Classroom by 9/28.

• FAFSA Completion Night-11/16, 6PM

Get help from a SUNY Financial Aid Advisor in understanding the FAFSA form and how to complete it.

There are many opportunities for advanced studies at CCS. Advanced coursework provides an opportunity for your child to gain skills and demonstrate competencies at a higher level.

Other benefits of participation in advanced coursework may include:

• improving a student’s self-confidence.

• demonstrating a student’s preparedness for college-level coursework.

• earning college credits before graduation.

• reducing future costs for higher education.

• reducing the time the student must spend at higher education institutions.

The advanced courses offered in high school at Chateaugay Central School are dual enrollment courses through NCCC and are free of charge to students. These courses include:

• English Composition (ELA 101 & ELA 102): 3 college credits each, 6 total college credits

• Sociology (SOC 101): 3 college credits

• Public Speaking (ELA 105): 3 college credits

• Music Appreciation (MUS 100): 3 college credits

• Statistics (MAT 121): 3 college credits

• Precalculus (MAT 132): 3 college credits

• 11th grade - French 201 (FRE 201): 3 college credits

• 12th grade - French 202 (FRE 202): 3 college credits

• 11th grade - Spanish 201 (SPA 201): 3 college credits

• 12th grade - Spanish 202 (SPA 202): 3 college credits

• Human Biology (BIO 109): 4 college credits

• Adirondack Biology (BIO 160): 3 college credits

• Chemistry 101 (CHE 101): 4 college credits

• Environmental Science (ENV 104): 3 college credits

• Physics 101 (PHY 101): 4 college credits

• Medical Terminology (HEA 101): 3 college credits

To be eligible for these courses, students must prepare by taking prerequisite courses that prepare them for the college-level course in the appropriate sequencing of courses within each content area.
