Mrs. McArdle’s Participation in Government class performed their mock trial last week. Noah Stout and Cameron Kenison represented the State of New York as prosecutors and Cameron Dumont and Jarrett Yaddow represented the defendant. Witnesses were portrayed by the rest of the class. We would like to thank Mrs. Nemier-Green for being out judge and her Stats class for being our jury. It was a great experience!

What better way to end the last day before winter break than with the LEAD Team's Reindeer Games?
From Mrs. McArdle: The Participation in Government class had a very informative and eye-opening experience. Various government employees discussed with them their jobs and duties at the courthouse, the requirements and qualifications and salary. David Hayes, chief clerk to Judge Carriero described his educational journey to becoming first a prosecutor and ultimately a clerk for a judge. The students also witnessed sentencing hearings and discussed those decisions with Judge Carriero. The students also heard from the Director of Probation, Assistant District Attorneys and various court employees.
Thank you to Judge Carriero, Mrs. Darby Monette, and Commissioners of Jurors and Court Officer Ben West for your time. It was a great day of civic engagement and education!

FFA Member Selected
We would like to recognize Hailey Reome for being selected to attend NY's Youth Agriculture Leadership Conference in Albany, NY November 13-14. The conference was designed to encourage collaboration among youth agricultural organizations and provide young leaders the opportunity to connect with state leaders to better understand how policy shapes the interconnected food, agriculture and natural resources industries. Hailey was unable to attend due to a conflict with a playoff volleyball game (which they won by the way! 😀). We're proud of Hailey for applying and being the only student in Franklin County selected to attend. The photo is from Hailey at FFA Camp this summer with fellow members from across the state. Keep up the great work, Hailey!
